Day 314, November 11, 2012

The Berenstain Bears come to Westport!
Megan Watt stars as Momma Bear!!!
Such a treat to see her on stage
at the Westport Country Playhouse!!!
Al, David, Diane and I joined
Doug, Marjorie, Daniel and Kevin
at the Playhouse.
Later, Al, David, Diane and I met with
Hal and had a nice dinner at Rizzuto's.
Probably, our last visit while they
live in Westport.  We will miss them!

Momma Bear, Megan!!!

Day 313, November 10, 201

I love Dancing with the Stars!
I have seen every show from every season.
Sometimes I have used the DVR, but have
not missed a show.  With the storm "Sandy"
my DVR could not record.  So, I watched
the missed shows on the computer!
Now, I am all caught up and ready for
Monday night!  Loving the
All Star Season!!!

Day 312, November 9, 2012

What a difference a day makes,
sunny day, snow melts, fast!

I love quilting and love learning something new.
My friend Sharon has jumped into quilting and
is now teaching me!  She taught me paper piecing
today and I see a lot of birdhouses in our futures.
I have a quilt I have been wanting to make,
"Feathered Star" and it uses paper piecing.  It
is an advanced quilt, so I am going to make
bird houses and then move on to the
Feathered Star.  Thanks Sharon!

Day 311, November 8, 2012

Love waking up to a fresh snow!
It is so quiet and peaceful.
Views from our bedroom window.

Nothing like opening the door to the first snow
of the season.  It is quiet, beautiful and very white.
Hank likes it!

Looks like a snow globe.

The backyard view.

I think I will just sit a while, crazy!

The not so fun part of the snow, going to work.
David is off to work, computer and shoes in hand.
Plus the shovel and ice/snow scraper.
Oh, and Hank to help.

Day 310, November 7, 2012

My, oh my!  First Sandy, now snow!
Hank loves a snow day.
I am busy recovering from Sandy,
laundry, cleaning house, etc.
So a snow day isn't so bad since we
now have heat!

Hank likes to go out and eat snow and
then run like a wild man!
How I wish I had his energy!

David decides to go out and clear the car
for tomorrow morning.  About 5-6 inches
so far.  Steady snow all day...

Day 309, November 6, 2012

Coming home from dinner the night before, we saw that
CL and P was setting up lighting on North Avenue
and then five large trucks came up the street, we are feeling lucky!
We heard lots of noise and as time went on, we could
hear the workers getting closer to our house.
The lights come on in the early morning, eight and half
days with no power, not fun!
It was a new day,
I played Mah Jongg and we voted.

Day 308, November 5, 2012

Still no power, Al and I decide to go to Home Depot,
get fireplace items and order wood!
We can't count on CL and P, but we can build
a fire and keep warm.
Called Izzo's and they had a cord of wood
delivered in 20 minutes, now that is service!!!
Hank is thinking "that is some stick pile"!!!

We may not be as young as we used to be.
But, Al and I stacked a cord of wood and
did a pretty good job of it.  Nice and dry in the garage.

Fire built,

fire set,

fire going!!!
Al and I enjoyed our fire.
It was warm, cozy and we both
loved the popping and cracking of the fire.
Brought back lots of memories of our first house
and all the fires we had in our family room
fireplace on Maryland in La Crescenta.
