Lea contacted me through Ancestry.com and
told me about this book written by my great, great
grandfather, Solon Hyde, he was with the 17th Ohio
Volunteer Infantry. Not only is it an amazing
account of his fighting in the Civil War, but also
his capture and imprisonment by the Confederacy.
The information in this book opened-up my
family tree and I was able to trace the "Hyde"
side of my family back to the 1500's.
They spent many years in CT, who knew?
